World class custom cycling kit for Family & Friends from Fishoek.

It is the feel of the sun, the smell of the sea, great company and the (always necessary) post ride coffee that gets Dennis out on his bike almost daily.

Having always loved his bicycle, it was only more recently [2013] that he consciously decided to make it a regular feature in his lifestyle. Needing to ‘beat the belly’ that comes with creeping age, Dennis opted for two wheels instead of hiking or running and hasn’t looked back.

Some days he prefers his gravel bike and other his mountain bike. Having the option keeps it fresh and exciting.

When asked what keeps him motivated, his response was this: “Each day has its special moments. Also, a friend, Cecil Porter, who is a 79-year-old LEGEND that beat me up Smitswinkel. I was astounded when I found out how old he was! He truly inspired me and many of our cycling club, 5F.”

Dennis is interested in all forms of cycling, whether trail, road, gravel or enduro and splits his time riding with family, friends and the club guys from Fishhoek Lifesaving club.

When it comes to his favourite cycling kit, he opts for Vermarc long bibs in winter and Bicyclegear cycling tops all year round.

We asked Dennis, if he could ride with any pro in the world, who would it be. His choice was Peter Sagan. Purely because he is “hard core” and can participate in any cycling discipline.

Maybe that dream will come true someday, Dennis.
